Festive feelings

Hello to you.

I hope that this message finds you well as we approach the festive season.

As a loyal subscriber to my mailing list, I thought I would give you a head's up on updates to my online store.

Sale on selected items

I am currently running a sale on limited Purple Rain and Earthyware tableware until 15 December 2024.

You will find favourable offers of up to 50% off the original price of teasets, vessels and decorative works subject to availability.

The Purple Rain tableware collection in its current design will not be reproduced in the future, as it is time to make way for a new and exciting collection currently in development.

So, if you have missed out on a beautiful Purple Rain piece previously, or wish to acquire a high quality ceramic at a very attractive price, then click on the image to be taken to the online shop to make your purchase.

New Speckles tableware products

My original black and white Speckles collection and still a firm favourite with my clients continues to grow with the addition of some new pieces. However, stocks are running low owing to their popularity at my craft shows.

The beauty of the distinctive Speckles collection is that they can be purchased individually to create your own spectacular showstopping tableware to enjoy at home.

So, if a special ceramic piece is on your or a loved one's wish-list this year, head over to the online store to place your order.

JAE Gift vouchers

Don't forget that online vouchers can be purchase on my website. Pick from a set amount, or select your own value. Vouchers can be used in part or full payment against any product in the online shop or against a pottery lesson or workshop.

Postage deadline

Check out from my online shop by Friday 13 December to meet the Royal Mail postage deadline of 16 December for UK standard postage before Christmas.

New safety regulations

And lastly, with immediate effect, I shall no longer offer shipping to customers in the European Union and Northern Ireland. This is due to new General Product Safety Regulations (GPSR) which come into force on 13 December 2024.

The new GPSR requires UK non-food manufacturers, retailers, and online businesses to comply with transparency, product safety documentation and traceability of their products.

It appears that art, as in titled, one-off works, may be exempt from these regulations.

However, handmade works made in small batches seem to be affected by the rules.

Whilst I welcome regulations about product and customer safety, as a sole-trader, I am unable to comply with the requirement to appoint and pay for a named agent in each UK country to deal with my exports to those respective countries. Not that I would consider breaking the law, but non-compliance could result in fines of up to £20 000.

As a reassurance to my customers that they are purchasing well-made and safe-to-use ceramic pieces from JAE Ceramics., I shall update my site with more technical information about the materials used in my practice.

I shall be in touch again towards the end of the month with a final 2024 message.

Please do not hesitate to make contact with me if you have a query. And, although I would be sad to lose you, you can unsubscribe from this mailing list at any point.

Take care

Judith
