One-to-one taster lesson
Service Description
This pottery lesson is a taster session for beginners and takes place in my home studio in Langdon Hills, Essex. In this one-to-one session, I will guide and help you to make a simple pinch/coil pot. Or, if you prefer to try the potter's wheel, I will show you a few basic techniques with the aim of making a small pot. If you decide at the end of the lesson that you wish to fire and keep your pot, there will be an extra £5.00 bisque and glaze firing fee for this service. You will be contacted when you pot is ready for collection. Or, hopefully you are bitten by the pottery bug and will decide to sign up for further lessons, which can be discussed. Before booking, please read my Terms and Conditions for pottery lessons and the cancellation policy. On the day of your confirmed session, please dress in clothes that you do not mind will become covered in clay. Remove your watch and all jewellery. To aid your enjoyment of the session, it is highly recommended that long nails are trimmed as these impede the ability to work well with clay.
Cancellation Policy
The duration of a pottery taster lesson is one hour. Lessons and workshops generally take place on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. A 50% deposit is payable when booking a pottery lesson. The balance is payable by cash or card at the end of the lesson. Should the client wish to keep their pot, a £5.00 firing fee is payable per pot. The client will be contact when the pot is ready for collection. A pottery workshop takes place at a venue of the client's choosing, who must make all arrangement for booking and confirming such locations. The content, duration and cost of a workshop depends on the type of request, number of participants, and location. A 50% deposit is required when booking a workshop and the balance is payable at the end of the workshop. Cancellations are accepted and the deposit is refundable more than 14 days (cooling off period) prior to confirmed booking. No refund of deposit will be given where cancellations of confirmed bookings are received less than 14 days prior to confirmed booking. Ongoing pottery courses are available upon request and are subject to discussion and mutual agreement.
